| Stockmen's Hotel Casino, Commercial Casino and Scoreboard Sports Lounge Awards $1,500 Scholarship Elko-The Stockmen's and Commercial Casinos along with the Scoreboard Sports Lounge and Restaurant announced today the winner of the 2007 Stockmen's Commercial and Scoreboard Casino Scholarship. The scholarship was established to help further the educations of young adults in around the Elko community and to encourage recipients to pursue careers to better their future. 
We are pleased to award $1,500 scholarship to Andreina Ortiz of Elko High School. "We felt that Andreina exemplified the qualities of our requirements and she should be rewarded for her dedication and achievement," said Melissa Spence, General Manager for the Stockmen's and Commercial Casinos. For the 2007 year Holder Hospitality Group received 8 applications from students at Elko High School. Selection criteria included academic performance and letters of recommendation. Elko High School will be honoring the Class of 2007 with Awards Convocation on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 7p.m. at the Lorena Moren Theatre at the Elko Convention Center. At that time Ms. Stacey Sawyer, District Marketing Director for the Eastern Division for Holder Group Elko, LLC will present Miss Andreina Ortiz with the $1,500 scholarship award. Previously Stockmen's and Commercial Casinos offer $1,500 Scholarship Stockmen'sHotel Casino and Commercial Casino in Elko and the Scoreboard Sports Bar and Casino in Spring Creek are offering a $1,500 scholarship for students of Elko and Spring Creek High Schools. The scholarship will be awarded to outstanding seniors who plan to continue their education at two or four year colleges and universities. Preference will be given to students who are employed by Stockmen's, Commercial or Scoreboard Casinos or have a parent who is currently employed by Stockmen's, Commercial or Scoreboard Casinos. Application forms are available at Stockmen'sHotel Casino Front Desk located at 340 Commercial Street in Elko, the Scoreboard Sports Bar and Restaurant in Spring Creek or at each high school guidance office. Deadline for scholarships is April 13, 2007. |
